

The tracklist was revealed on September 9th along with the cover artwork and an additional note.

The proper announcement came in an i-D interview published online on September 2, 2019, where Twigs discussed the record and the figure of Mary Magdalene, whom the album is named after. The album was first hinted at with the release of the single, “Cellophane” on April 24, 2019, which seems to discuss the idea of a tainted relationship. It was originally scheduled to be released on October 25th, 2019 but was pushed back to November 8th, 2019 along with the release of third single “home with you”. Her last project was the 2015 EP M3LL155X.

MAGDALENE is FKA twigs' sophomore album and her first full-length LP in 5 years.
